Vic: Changes predicted for Vic Cabinet
A political analyst says Victorian Premier STEVE BRACKS is likely to make minor changesto his Cabinet line-up in the wake of his historic election victory.
NICK ECONOMOU, a senior lecturer in politics at Monash University, says wholesale changesto the ministry are unlikely -- but Mr BRACKS will probably replace under-performers intough portfolios.
Dr ECONOMOU says Gaming Minister JOHN PANDAZOPOULOS, Environment Minister SHERRYL GARBUTTand Planning Minister MARY DELAHUNTY could all be replaced.
But he says if he were STEVE BRACKS he'd leave the key portfolios alone as it's beena functional government.
Dr ECONOMOU says the election result has increased the importance of the environmentand Ms GARBUTT could be replaced by someone deemed more able to handle the increased workload.
He says a possible replacement could be GAVIN JENNINGS -- whose Melbourne electorateis in the heartland of Green support.
