NSW: Man charged over stabbing attack
A 20-year-old man will appear in court today charged over a vicious stabbing attackof a man in Sydney's south last week.
The 32-year-old victim was stabbed up to 30 times in front of his wife and eight-month-oldchild near the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Woniora Road, Hurstville, about 10.15pm(AEST) last Saturday.
A Monterey man was taken into police custody at Sydney international airport yesterday afternoon.
Police say in a statement the 32-year-old was taken to Hurstville police station forquestioning and was this morning charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding.
They say he was refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court today.
The injured man remains in a critical but stable condition in St George hospital.
