City National closing branches: ; Three in Kanawha, Raleigh, Summers counties to close

Three City National Bank branches in Kanawha, Raleigh and SummersCounty are closing, a bank executive says.

City National will close a branch in Beckley on July 15, andKanawha City and Hinton branches are expected to close Sept. 30,said Craig Stilwell, executive vice president for human resourcesand marketing for the bank's parent, City Holding Co.

A new City Holding Co. management team has recently announcedsome cost-cutting measures, as company officials have said they donot expect to earn a profit in 2001.

Stilwell said local residents will have other options nearby.
