Fed: Milat can't appear while seeking leave to appeal conviction

SYDNEY, Feb 24 AAP - Backpacker murderer Ivan Milat cannot appear in court while seeking
leave to appeal his conviction, a judge has decided.
Milat today applied to the High Court to appear in the court while making submissions
to seek special leave to appeal his 1996 conviction on seven charges of murder and one
of detain for advantage.
The 59-year-old is currently serving a life sentence in Goulburn Jail for murdering
seven backpackers whose bodies were found in the Belanglo State Forest, in the NSW …
